April 2016 Daily Journal Flip Through Video

     Exciting news guys!

So, for the past few months I’ve been doing a daily journal – you’ve probably seen this listed in my daily tasks section on my planner spreads. I started April 1st of this year in my A6 Moleskine journal and so far haven’t missed a day. Some days I just stick something down and it takes two minutes, other days I spend two hours colouring in squares – it’s a right mix!

I have pictures of the pages to show you today but I also thought that I’d venture into the realm of videos and so I have made a flip through video of the first month of my journal! This is my first time making a video so be kind – I don’t have any special set-up for filming videos, it’s literally just my bridge camera on a tripod and the bare minimum of natural light (because apparently any time I pick my camera up the skies go grey).

If you don’t want to watch the video of me flipping through my journal (but sure, it’s only two minutes so go on!), here are the pictures of my pages from April!

But hopefully you watched the video and enjoyed it. If you did, let me know and I can make more flip through videos as I finish the months!

    1. You should, it’s such a fun thing to do. If you don’t have time for a daily journal, try out a weekly one! Pick a day and make sure to set aside an amount of time to journal. Eventually you’ll make a habit of it! I list journaling in planner as a daily task to do so that I’ll always remember it 🙂

    1. All you need is a camera and a tripod (to get the overhead view)! Well, that and something to flip through as well xD
Seems to have gone done well, my video, so I’ll get on making the May flip through! Don’t forget to subscribe on YouTube because that way you’ll know when I do in case I forget to mention it here 🙂

    2. I still don’t know how to “link” stuff on here yet. I just need to read more into it and just “do it”. It’s funny how I even got this blog to work and have followers because I can delete things on this computer that nobody else can..lol

  1. I was just wondering about the content on each page so instead of writing about each day did you draw an image to represent your day or just did whatever design you felt like doing that day?
It is a really nice post by the way I love the idea of daily journaling although I’m not sure I would be able to keep it up 🙂

    1. It can be tricky doing a daily journal, making sure you have the time, but maybe weekly journaling is something you could try!
For the days, I try to incorporate something from that – so if I get mail I might use the stamp, if I buy something new I might test it out in my journal or if I go somewhere I’ll stick something in or draw something relating to that day. Other days when I haven’t gone anywhere or gotten anything, I do something relating to my mood or a thought I’ve had that day and still other days I do something just because I feel like using a certain material that day. It’s a right mix but I like that I don’t have any set rules for my journal – in fact sometimes I don’t even do art in my daily art journal. In May for one of my pages I just wrote out a passage from The Hobbit!

    2. Hehe, thank you so much, it does sound like a good idea. I like the fact that you’re not having to confine yourself to select rules, perhaps I will try it out one day. Thank you.

    3. Well I know some people keep a journal for specific things, like tracking their moods or something but I find sometimes I don’t want to do a specific type of journaling and if I have to do something specific, it takes the fun out of it so not having rules is a big help!
