So, I’ve not been doing a whole lot of card making this year…or last year…so I thought buying new supplies would motivate me to make cards because I really needed motivation to make Christmas cards this year and yeah, that’s what I did! I treated myself to some new stamp sets, some holiday related and some just for other occasions. I was going to just show off the stamp sets but I actually ended up testing them out to see how I might go about using them to make cards so now I can also show you how they actually look too!
First up, the celebrate stamp from Concord & 9th and thank you stamp set from Winnie & Walter.

I picked up both of these because I figured they’d be useful sets to have because you’ll always need celebrate and thank you cards. I liked the simplicity of the thank you heart and that it had the separate stamps for ‘heart’ and ‘thanks’ allowing you to stamp them in separate colours – I think it could be nice to emboss the words maybe.
Concord & 9th actually do a full alphabet of the style of the celebrate stamp which is cool. I like the idea of being able to stamp the leaves and flowers in different colours and that it’s a celebrate stamp that could work for many occasions.
I also got this tiny ‘for you’ stamp from Flora & Fauna which I think will make for cute tags.

And moving onto holiday stamps, I got the tiny winter cabin stamp by Altenew for making tags as well.
And now we’re onto the stamp sets I picked up for making my Christmas cards this year. First up is this Hero Arts stamp & cut ornaments set. I’ve not used the die-cuts yet but I love the ornament stamps themselves.

I picked the stamps up because I thought they could look nice against watercolour backgrounds but I’m also just loving the tiny sentiments which are very cute.
And finally, we have the biggest stamp set which is the festive foliage set from Altenew. I fell in love with this set when I saw it because I loved the idea of being able to stamp in one solid colour or use two different tones. I think this set offers a lot of variety for the image it creates.

I don’t care much for the sentiments in the set but it does have a ‘season’s greetings’ stamp and that’s always a good sentiment to have.
So that’s my card making supplies haul and tests. Lots of lovely stamp sets! Which is your favourite?
From my experience, American companies do make the best card making supplies which is annoying for me as they’re all brands I can’t easily pick up here in Ireland. I had found a company in the UK that imports all the American brands which was great but hey, then Brexit happened so come 2021 everything coming from the UK will land me with expensive customs charges just like things from the US. Time now for me to find an EU based shop that stocks the these any of the brands mentioned above, anyone have any suggestions on where to start?
I love them! The stamps and stickers look gorgeous, and not too huge and ghastly, like some. It’s going to be fun to mix up and make the cards 💕😁
The foliage is my favourite. :)))💕

Have you tried Craftelier? They’re in the EU and have a few American brands. (They sometimes even have Recollections, which is usually only available at Michaels.)
