Hello everyone, how are you doing? Hope you’re well.
Considering I got this box back at the start of December and that it’s winter/holiday themed, an unboxing post is a little bit late. I considered not posting this at all because of the timing but it’s the last Crochet Society box of mine seeing as I didn’t renew my subscription – it’s a lovely box to get and is worth the money that the subscription is but not worth the likely customs I would be charged now thanks to Brexit if you know what I mean.
Anyway, the box – a cute one with reindeer on it.
I was surprised when I opened it to see the stuffing just sitting in between the yarn but actually, this box saw a nice positive change in that it cut out all that extra plastic packaging that the stuffing and other small bits were wrapped in. I’m not getting any more boxes but I hope that’s a thing they continue to do.
Underneath the yarn and stuffing lay quite a few bits and pieces:
As usual, there’s a pattern book, a crochet hook, some safety eyes for the amigurumi pattern and a stitch marker. Other pieces in this box included a Christmas tree shaped cookie cutter, some stickers for labelling your handmade goods, some labels for washing instructions for your handmade gifts and a clear plastic bauble (one of the patterns was for a small amigurumi piece that would sit in it as a tree ornament). So lots of nice bits and pieces to help you with holiday gifts in this box!
And as for the yarn, there were two balls of Stylecraft Highland Heathers. I’ve not used this particular Stylecraft yarn before but the colours are really nice.
But that’s it for the Crochet Society box 18, my last box. I’ll miss getting it every month but sadly no more subscription boxes from the UK for me. I’ll have to do some research on EU based subscription boxes I can treat myself to. Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions!
