Snail Mail

October 2016 – Outgoing Snail Mail

Hey everyone! It’s mid-November and I’m just getting round to showing off my outgoing mail from October but luckily it’s never too late to show off mail (in my opinion!).

First up, some mail I sent out at the start of the month. Since I was just using the La Papierre letter sets (which are at least incredibly pretty), I tried my best to pick stamps that matched the colour schemes of the envelope. I think the heart stamp goes really well with the flamingo envelope because who doesn’t love flamingos! And I’m always glad when I have a blue or purplish theme going on because it’s an excuse to use the Wild Atlantic Way stamps which I love the colours of!

And while not matching my envelope, since October is Halloween month, It did seem the perfect opportunity to make use of these Bram Stoker stamps I had.

Speaking of stamps, I had an awful lot of random stamps that were either too much or not enough for international letters. With some effort though (maths isn’t a strong point), I managed to reach the cost of sending a small package (a.k.a. a chocolate bar) over to America as it was a friend’s birthday!

They thankfully just about fit on the envelope I was using!

My New Zealand pen pal, Dani, started a travelling notebook project months back (February I think) and in October, it finally found its way to me. For the project, everyone who received the notebook was tasked with filling in a few pages about the country or area they’re from so here’s my selection of pages about Ireland:

Of course I kept with a green theme. I tried to get a good overview of Ireland including some information about the flag, basic facts, information about the 1916 Easter Rising, quirks of the Irish language and also included plenty of pictures to flip to reveal more information!

Remember how last week I showed you the amazing birthday present that I got from Laura, my Dutch friend? Well, her birthday is just a week after mine so this is what I sent her:

I made a little flip book using some notecards I had spare and decorated with a woodland creatures theme, putting lots of little things in for her like letter paper, notecards, journal cards and even a Roald Dahl theme stamp set! I also gave her a few other things like a role of washi tape and some fabric, which I of course forgot to take a picture of (I really thought I had though)! Oh well! I don’t think it’s as good as what she got me but I hope she likes it.

And that’s it for the outgoing mail I have to show. There were of course a few other bits and pieces but as usual, I forgot to actually take pictures of everything – one of these months I’ll learn my lesson!

There were also a few pieces that I did technically send out in October as they went into a post box on the 31st but as that’s a bank holiday, meaning they weren’t collected until Tuesday which was the 1st, I shall count them in my November outgoing mail post next month to give them time to arrive at their destinations!

  1. I found your blog and love it! I have a huge stash of LA Papierre, which caught my eye with your blog. I have the pleasure of being friends with the creator and I’m also in the LEP! We could write if you want!

    1. Glad to hear you like my blog! I absolutely love the La Papierre letter sets. I can’t get nice stationery where I am so getting pretty snail mail supplies in the mail is a lifesaver! xD
I’d love to write some time, feel free to send me an email if you want to start 🙂 (although I don’t imagine I’ll be able to send much new mail until the new year – so much Christmas mail to prepare!)
