Hey everyone, how’s it going? Hope you’re all doing well.
I have a bit of a short post for you today with a very quick make to show off (and maybe give you some inspiration). Remember that really cute sloth t-shirt I got back in January? A sloth drinking some tea, what else could I want in a t-shirt? Well, it fitting would be nice. Unfortunately, I got the wrong size. Well, it’s less the wrong size and more women’s sizes suck! It fit fine on my torso but the sleeves on women’s tees are awful and are always too short and too tight. It was a bit uncomfortable to wear so I thought I’d try come up with something else to do with it because I didn’t want to waste the cute image. Turning the t-shirt into a cushion seemed like an easy task so that’s what I went with.
It’s not the best sewn but then again, nothing I sew is that well sewn because I’m somewhat sloppy with my sewing machine! It was also a bit annoying finding an insert for the cushion because of the awkward size. The image was taller than it was wider but I couldn’t make it a square because of the sleeves. I did try making my own cushion insert but I ended up making it the wrong size so in the end, rather than having a removable cover, I just had to stuff it with the pillow stuffing and sew it shut.
Oh well! It’s not a neat finish but at least I can still enjoy this little sloth!
The image really is cute! Too bad it didn’t fit. Womens’ sizing is troublesome!

I loooove it! Now I want to make one. Definitely don’t have a sloth T-shirt (which is a little depressing) but I could probably substitute another exciting one. Thanks for the inspiration.

Really, I think everyone needs a sloth t-shirt in their lives, for all those slow paced days 😀

Oh my gosh! I have the pillow inserts and the t-shirts just waiting for me to get it together to sew them up…two years ago! Don’t worry about the stitches, it’s handmade after all! Super cute pillow!

T-shirts rarely fit me right either, Even if technically the correct size for me, it is somehow wrong – too big or small somewhere, With so many of us saying t-shirts suck for women – why do they continue to make them the way they do?! Great pillow idea.

I don’t know! The day I find a women’s size t-shirt that actually fits me though, I’ll be stocking up on it because it’s such a rare thing! Like, I find a size that fits my chest but then the sleeves don’t fit. So annoying!
But at least to-shirt material is easy to use so I can turn all the t-shirts I get that don’t fit into something more useful 🙂

I love t-shirts, but they never seem to fit me right. If I buy the size that fit me in the store, it seems to shrink in the wash and not fit once I’m home. If I buy the next size up from the one that fits in the store, it feels like a tent no matter how many times I wash it in hot water. I love t-shirt crafts like this, where I can still get some use out of them.

That happens to me so often with t-shirts too. Why must it be so hard to find clothes that fit!
